I’ve always been a builder, with or without a blueprint.
From selling bottled water at music festivals as a teenager to leading a $3.5M historical renovation project with no prior construction experience, I’ve carved out a career by raising my hand, figuring things out fast, and delivering results that speak for themselves.
My early work spanned retail sales, finance, property management, marketing, and project execution. At 19, I was promoted to Head of Finance at a powersports dealership. By my early 20s, I was managing complex real estate deals, negotiating vendor contracts, and leading a multi-phase buildout for a Detroit-area developer. Somewhere in between, I earned a full academic scholarship to Wayne State, worked multiple jobs, had both of my kids, and graduated law school with honors.
After passing the bar, I served as VP of Operations and In-House Counsel before launching my own storefront and eventually pivoting to remote legal work, where I found my sweet spot: supporting scaling businesses with lean, strategic legal counsel that actually fits how they operate. A chance encounter at SXSW led to me serving as general counsel to a publicly traded carbon removal startup, where I worked alongside an incredible team and was honored to be invited to ring the opening bell at the Canadian Securities Exchange when the company was listed.
Today, My Work Focuses On:
Serving as Fractional General Counsel for startups and scaling companies (especially in sustainability, tech, and service-based industries)
Exploring the intersection of law and technology, where I’ve learned the basics of how to work with APIs, experimented with tools like Postman, and prototyped automations using Python, OpenAI, and Zapier
Teaching business law to the next generation of entrepreneurs as an adjunct business law instructor at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business
Who I Am Outside the Office
I’m a lawyer, strategist, and teacher….but I’m a mom first! I’ve been the homeroom mom, junior football association board member/treasurer, the “Pinterest” mom, the dugout mom with homemade fatheads and the end-of-season treats. I’ve attended field trips, taken Zoom calls from the car, and built freelance businesses between nap time and negotiation calls. I’ve shown my kids that anything is possible with creativity, grit, and a relentless willingness to work hard.
Everything I do (inside and outside the legal field) is tackled with that same mindset: figure it out, make it better, and give a damn about the people you’re helping.
“Content, but never complacent.”
